Where the Table Stands after Mid-Week matches

At the top of the tree, the Liverbird looks down with increasing anxiety on Chelsea's potential title-push, and City's resurgence after a De-Bruyne inspired triumph over Forest, who along with Brighton, Fulham, Villa, Bournemouth, Spurs, Brentford and (maybe) Man United, are fighting with a certain Scottish urgency to return to Europe. The exciting start to the season almost removes the concept of a 'mid-table' as pretty much all clubs are either destined to battle for the top seven spaces or refrain from entering the top three. The biggest gaps are at the very top and the very bottom, and in Southampton's case at least, they don't appear to want to budge. With fixtures fast approaching over the next few days, who knows who will be where by X-mas! Who knows who will be where by next week!
